I find that I like the poetry better some years than others, depending on the editor. But the selections are broad enough that I always find poems I like, and the book has been useful in introducing me to poets and journals that I might not have found otherwise.

Thanks for sorting through the magazines! No big surprises, but fun to see.

I thought Duotrope had a way to search publications by prizes, but I don't see it there. Maybe they used to have that, and maybe my memory is wrong.Shelley Cherninhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10132631136708521168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5641117771707843067.post-6689335274224927872009-11-29T22:49:46.270-05:002009-11-29T22:49:46.270-05:00Fair enough. This series is just a nice annual that usually picks good editors and has good stuff. But it's not comprehensive or even very thorough. It is an enjoyable collection of poems, though.brianreadshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09009022796330603785noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5641117771707843067.post-34810343150877368112009-11-29T16:44:12.124-05:002009-11-29T16:44:12.124-05:00I just saw this volume at Borders - looked through...I just saw this volume at Borders - looked through it, then decided to use my 30% off coupon on Muriel Rukeyser's Collected Poems instead. Will have to pick it up next time....

I especially appreciate the top 32 list - and plan to submit to them all in the very near future. ;)John B.
