Last year I met poet Raul Zurita. He endured brutality under the Pinochet regime. He spoke of how the people turned to poets to give them a voice in a voiceless time. For this he suffered, as a poet, for the people, as a voice. JP

"A good poem is a contribution to reality. The world is never the same once a good poem has been added to it. A good poem helps to change the shape of the universe, helps to extend everyone's knowledge of himself and the world around him."
