Now I'm mulling the distinction between presses and publishers.
Eventually I want to compile two lists of Ohio-based poetry publishers:
(1) book/chapbook publishers (can include e-books)
(2) journals/periodicals (can include print and online)
For now, let's focus on the first (in which case something like Kenyon Review probably doesn't belong).

Yes, I agree it is worthwhile to separate the list of book (and chapbook) publishers from the periodical publishers (and some may be on both lists, of course)

The address you have Poet's Haven linked to is incorrect. Please link to www.PoetsHaven.com. The old gallery URLS were done away with more than a year ago. Some of the other internal pages will be getting moved around soon, too, as I'm working on cleaning up and organizing how some things are presented.

Thanks, Fred. I know Kattywompus took over Pudding House's Poets' Greatest Hits series and Connie Everett has taken over Pudding Magazine, but I believe the rest of the PH catalog remains with Pudding House, though their website is down. I've gotten mixed messages, but the last I heard a family member of the Pudding House founder was going to resuscitate the site. I'm not sure how reliable that information is.
Simone, I'm not sure who to recommend, but maybe one of our other readers has a suggestion. I know that as editor of Crisis Chronicles Press I place our author's books on Amazon and in as many bookstores/boutiques as possible. However we're a bit behind and not open to submissions at this time. Maybe in 2015 after we catch up....

And since this blog entry was originally posted I've learned of several more local poetry presses (some founded recently), including Guide to Kulchur Press and Small Victories Press. I'll update the above list to include them soon.
Great work, John...this is history as well as a portrait of a moving poetry scene. Bottom Dog Press is part of it all.
