Phillip Levine, the next poet laureate

Philip Levine, working-class Detroit poet, is selected to be the next US poet laureate, to succeedW. S. Merwin.

Men lived within these foundries, hour by hour;
Nothing they forged outlived the rusted gears
Which might have served to grind their eulogy.

I like what I've heard and read by Levine. He has been featured on PBS Newshour several times. His writing is real in that he speaks to his experience. He's not a poser.
